Colin Brake
author / screenwriter
Colin joined the BBC in 1985, working as a clerk typist at BBC Enterprises. During that time he wrote some copy for BBC Video, including video cases for some early Doctor Who video releases. Wanting to move into production he applied for various vacancies and eventually won an attachment to work at BBC Elstree on EastEnders. He was the show’s first Archivist and Researcher beginning in September 1986, eventually becoming a Script Editor and Storyline Editor. After returning to EastEnders he left his staff post at the BBC in 1992 and went freelance. He soon became a regular writer for EastEnders and contributed 11 scripts over an 18 month period in 1993/94. Colin's work also extends to audio work in which he has worked on the award winning Dan Dare and iRobot adaptation. Colin is currently writing for BBC's Doctors.
